My Daughter, Married to a Fantastic Man

DSC_2630My daughter has been married, and I am back from Hawaii.  The ceremony was held by the sea beside a rocky beach.  It was very informal with the groom wearing shorts and flip flops, but since I got a nice deal on a tuxedo ($.99 at the thrift store), and since I had promised my daughter that I would wear a tux back when we thought it was going to be a formal affair, I went ahead and wore it.

It had rained heavily the night before, but the rain held up on the wedding day, and everything went smoothly.  Even the Luau that night went without a hitch.  My father especially seemed to enjoy it!

Dad at the LuauI guess every father of a daughter has this secret fear that their daughter will end up with some sort of  undesirable guy.  I used to have those fears, and when my daughter appeared to be interested in this one guy and wanted to bring him home, I was filled with a secret trepeditation.  However, after meeting and getting to know Craig, I know that my daughter was extremely fortunate.  I could not ask for a better husband for my daughter.  He is kind, gentle and patient among many other fantastic attributes, and I know that he will prove to be a wonderful husband for my only child.

I’m sure that I shall be commenting more on the events in Hawaii in the coming days, but the marriage was the highlight, the culmination of so many hopes and aspirations.
